Pina and Junior’s Pledge
In Memory of Noah
Noah was a ‘Canines with a Cause’ (CWAC) Certified Service Dog, who passed
away on November 18, 2008 at the very young age of 5 and 1/2 yrs.
During
his short life, Noah left a ‘paw’ print in the hearts of many people —
including Miriam Mas — the Founder/President and Executive Director of
CWAC, as well as many CWAC volunteers, many members of the
Ottawa-Carleton Community — young and ‘not so young’ — who were
fascinated by Noah’s gentle nature and teachings during his
presentations at various schools and public events, fundraisers and
training of other puppies in the CWAC training program.
As
CWAC has left a ‘PAWS-itive’ impact on us, through their tremendous
support and encouragement during our training, testing and
certification as CWAC Team Graduate, it was personally important we
asked our friends and family, members and organizations in our
community to help in a fundraiser in Memory of Noah.
The
pledge set forth from November 2008 (after Noah’s passing) to Christmas
2008, was to collect donations to help pay for the total $3,115.00
emergency veterinarian fees CWAC incurred with regards to Noah’s sudden
illness during his final days.
For
every dollar raised, Pina and Junior pledged and matched the funds
collected to a maximum of $1,000.00. As a result of the many
individuals and organizations who generously donated to the “Friends of Noah’s Fund” in memory of Noah, we are pleased to announce that the total goal of $3,115.00 was reached on December 31, 2008!
To
everyone who has taken on our pledge, and has chosen to re-direct their
holiday or Christmas funds to CWAC instead of spending it elsewhere, please accept our most sincere ‘Thank YOU’ — you have made a
“PAWS-itive” difference for this wonderful organization — CWAC!
